Act. 1.5 Using TeamWave for Collaboration

Collaboration: n. working together to accomplish a task.
Introduction to TeamWave
SOAR-High students will use a program called TeamWave for working together. On TeamWave you will be able to:
  • Create your own room for working with a partner
  • Leave messages
  • Chat
  • Share files
  • Draw together
  • Plan together
For each Unit you will have different partners.  Sometimes your partners will be at one of the other schools, sometimes they will be in another class at your school.  The SOAR-High classes are not exactly balanced between the 3 schools so you will not always have a partner from a different school.

For school collaboration teams  ....

  • All students will team with students from another class.
  • Sometimes students will team with students from their same school.
  • Teams will change for different activities, and different units.

    1.   You should be logged on to TeamWave.  Firmly double click on the 'Practice Room' doorway.   Read the information about the TeamWave drawing tools on the sidebar.  Explore!  Try out the sidebar tools.  Please try not to destroy the information in the room.  If you do, tell your teacher.

    2.  How many bears can you find in the Practice Room?  Use the scroll bars on the side of the window to practice moving around.

    3.  Find out who your Collaboration Team Partners are. Click on 'Green Team', 'Purple Team' or 'Blue Team' at the top of the Unit  Activity page.  Find your name and your partners.  Also find your team room number.

    4.   On TeamWave, find your team's room.  Your room number is the same as your team number.  Firmly double click on the door to your room.  A new TeamWave room will open up.

    5.  Your new team room will be empty (white screen), except for a doorway in the upper left corner labeled 'Foyer'.   Notice the tool bar on the left side of your screen.
