Setting up your Science Portfolio
|

[ Back ]
For this course you will create a portfolio
of your work in science. Use some time this week to set up the portfolio notebook and locate where you will keep it in the classroom.
The purpose of the portfolio is to
-
show learning and accomplishment in science.
-
organize the information you need to study
for quizzes.
-
create a permanent record of science questions you have investigated.
-
provide an exhibit of your best science work
during the year.
Set up your Science Portfolio
1. Get a 2-inch 3-ring notebook. The kind with the clear view
pockets on the spine and covers is preferred.
2. You have created a science web page for yourself. Make a
print out of the webpage to use as a cover for your portfolio.
3. Organize 5 section dividers as follows:
1. Lab reports
2. Reading in Science
3. Unit Question sets
4. Best Science Project
5. Glossary of science words
4. Include a floppy disk or CD-ROM holder page in the back
of your notebook.
5. Read the Portfolio guide page for requirements
on what to keep in your portfolio.
6. With your teacher decide where student portfolios will be kept in your classroom.
