1. Start Netscape Communicator. (if you're reading this
on your computer it's already open.) |
|
2. Open a file in NetScape Composer: From the File
menu, choose New and then choose Blank Page. Or, click the
Composer button (pencil button) on the Component bar. A Composer window
opens containing a blank page.
|
3. Create a web page using basic editing tasks, such as entering text,
and formatting characters and paragraphs. At the top of the Composer
page you will see these 2 tool bars:
Compositions Bar
Use these items to create, open, and save Web pages; perform standard
editing tasks; create links and targets; insert images, horizontal lines,
and tables; and check spelling.
Format Bar
Use these items to format paragraphs; specify fonts, font sizes, and
font styles; add text color, and set text alignment.
|
4. Add a picture to your web page by clicking on the
button. Choose 'browse' and find the picture file you want to insert. |
5. Create links to other web pages. Click the
button and type in the address (URL) for the web page you want to link
to. |
| 6. You may want to set the page color and text colors on your
page. To do that go to the Format menu and choose Page
Properties (find it at the bottom of the list). |
| 7. SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN. Go to the File menu, and
choose Save. Be careful to pay attention to where you
are saving the file. Give your file an appropriate name (make it
short, meaningful, and with no spaces) |
|
8. Look at your new page by opening it with Navigator. (Go to
the File menu, Open, and choose Page in Navigator)
If you want to make changes, go back to Composer and edit. Be sure
to save your work often!
|
| 9. Publish your web page so that
others can view it. |
