4.  Find a day and location with more data:
You are looking at a map showing student data reported today.  Usually there is not much data, especially if you are working in the morning.  Find a day that has more data - the easiest way is to look at the box labeled 'Date (year,  month, day)' and change the year to 1998.

5.  On the small blue map of the world,    click on the USA.  Wait for the page to load again.

6.  Zoom in on the USA..... on the large white map click once on the USA.  The numbers on the zoom bar tell you how close you are.

On this scale which number tells you the map  is the farthest away?  _________
Which number tells you it is the closest?  ___________

7.  GLOBE data can be displayed in a number of ways: as points on the map or as contours.  What you see now is points.   How to change the view to contours:

Find the box labeled 'map type'.
Click on the box and select contours.
Click on the Redraw Map button (under the large white box).

9.  COMPARE:
Zoom out to the USA map again (click the zoom [-]  and "redraw map" buttons to zoom out).
Compare Maximum temperatures for any one day for the general area around  ISD,  MSSD, and UHS.

(Note:  do not try to find the exact school:   just check the general area.)

Zoom in on any part of the USA you want.
Select the 'choose school' button under the map and click the "redraw map" button.
Scroll down the page a little.   You will see a new box with the name of one or more schools.  The column on the left shows the Total number (#) of data reports from that school.
